These boys are my everything. Including the shirtless human in the background.

I swear. He loves stalking Spencer out in the fields, planning his attack…
Seriously, I have one dog and one cat/human/dog/thing. Oh, Jack.
So, I’ve been meaning to post these for a while. I figured it’s been at least a week or so since I’ve blogged pics of the boys being lazy.
As a side note, my domain was approved for Twitter cards today, so previews and thumbnails render in Twitter clients. Super awesome!
I caught them spending some time together. Jack wants everyone to believe he hates Spencer, but secretly he can’t imagine life without him.
Oh, Jack.
A combined birthday celebration for Jackson and Spencer. My boys are all grown up; grey hair and all!
Taking advantage of this fabulous weather and took the boys up for a walk around the lake in Prescott again today.
They were pooped; holding hands on the ride back home. Bliss.
Jack insisted Terry share the seat with him.
Great weekend. Yesterday, we too a totally unplanned quick trip up to Prescott, AZ. It was our first time up there. The mountain air was amazing and it was in the 70s. We brought the boys with us; only took about 2 hours to get there.
First, we stopped downtown at the ‘square’ and walked around; there was a festival going on and swarms of people out and about, having picknicks on the grass and just hanging out. So many dogs! Very dog-friendly city.
After that, we headed to Lynx Lake. Took a short walk around the lake and found a nice secluded area where Jackson and Spencer got to experience a lake swim for the first time. Non-chlorinated water! Initially, they both just stared at the water, unsure of what to do. I tossed a rock in the water and once it made the thump/splash, Spencer knew just what to do. Jack, of course, had to whine and freak out for about 30 seconds before he jumped in, too. I got my camera out and recorded some video. Clearly, Jackson got pretty comfortable quickly because one of the first things he did was attempt to retrieve a stick that was lager than he was (in the video). We found a more appropriate sized stick and had a blast wearing them out for a while.
Really loved it – it was so close and so easy to take a quick little day-trip up there. Can’t wait to go back!
My sweeties.
They saw something move in the distance.
My little man.
Hanging out with Jack. Photo crated with AutoStitch.
We’ve ruined him. Literally. He’s a broken dog. Last night, and I’m not proud of this, I made the bed *around* him. Oh, Jack.
Wow, how time files. It’s been weeks since I’ve posted anything here. Here’s a quick stroll over the past 2+ weeks since my last post:
Sunday heaven…
Orlando bound!
Went to the Columns Drive Chattahoochee River Park today with Terry and the boys – it was so nice out! Afterwards, I took a quick drive around some of the old neightborhoods I grew up in and 2 of the houses we lived in. Memories!!! I used to ride my bike all over that place. Good times.
Get it? Ha! Went out for Willy’s yesterday with Leah and Jonah. Snapped a few shots when we got home. This is the tree right outside our front door – it’s beautiful. Also, Jackson has this really, really strange habit of only going for a P under bushes. Of course, he can’t be like a normal dog and just P on a tree or something; he’s got to slowly wiggle under a shrub and go. He. Is. So. Strange. But I wouldn’t want him any other way.
Just got home from taking the boys on a nice walk around the UPS Global HQ campus. It’s a fabulous campus. They’ve got these great paths that wind all around the back of the property and around the buildings. There’s never anyone on them, so they boys get some off leash time and love sniffing around.
Brace yourself. I’m posting yet another pic of Jackson up here. I just can’t get enough. He was making the cutest grunting sounds when I took this.
Nom nom nom…
No, doggie, MY BED!
Went to The Cabin last night with Terry and the boys. Mom/Bob cooked us dinner in exchange for me training mom on contact management in Gmail and getting her Mac and iPhone updated and running smoothly.
Took two pretty good shots of the boys today. I can’t get over how much I love them.
Yesterday, for lunch, Terry and I took the boys for a nice quick walk on this little walking trail right here in our neighborhood. There wasn’t anyone around, so I saw this bench and had to take the photo-op.
One word: fabulous. Got to meet baby Drake, spend time with amazing people, great gifts, saw some friends we hadn’t seen in a long time, and ate some amazing food. Everyone loved the boys – they were so well behaved. Terry and I are very proud parents.
Hi, babies!
Our emotionally challenged yellow lab, Jackson Boudreaux Martin, turns a big 7 years old today! Happy Birthday, Bougie!
I forgot he looked like this back when… My Bougie!
So cute.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the blondes:
I love this damn dog.
Why, doggie, why? It’s so not uncommon for Jack to either be staring off into a wall or a corner like this. Nobody has scolded him, nothing’s wrong, he just does this randomly. Then, when you say his name, he’ll look over at you glaringly as if to scoff “WHAT?!”
Took the boys out on a nice 1 mile walk last night. Jack was really panting up a storm with that big old tongue hanging out. So cute.
Gave up trying to keep him off the leather chair. It’s his now.
I found him like this. Promise.
Mind if I use your ass as a pillow real quick? Thanks. Love, Spencer.
Jack’s new nickname this summer has been “Toasty”.
Fun new iPhone app:
All tucked in and ready for naptime.
This damn dog…
Happy Memorial Day! Just enjoyed a great little hike with Terry and the boys. Two people made comments about how beautiful they thought the boys were. Proud moments. First time to this trail. Very nice views and great trails. They boys are pooped. We are thinking about going to Tempe today to play some tennis and maybe go see a movie.
Jack loves being upside down
Clean teeth. Big Smile. Pink Bandage.
Boo hoo.
Woof.
Except my babies are furry babies.
Yes!
He loves pillows and blankets… Had to share. So cute.
They know exactly how to chillax on a weekend morning.
Jack!
Bouge
We like to cuddle.
Jackson and Spencer
What a great weekend. Terry and I woke up on Saturday morning and took the boys to Desert Ridge for some shopping. We went to PetsMart and let them pick out new bones. Spencer was thrilled. They did good being out in public. We don’t take them out as often as we should, but they did great. We’re going to get better about socializing them and getting them out of the house more often.
After that, we took them to North Mountain for a quick hike.
I also went kind of app-download crazy this weekend, too. I downloaded a cool little app that lets me colorize photos. Here’s some of the fun I had with that:
When we were at Costco, I saw a Gingerbread House kit and couldn’t resist.
It was a lot harder to make it look like the one on the box than I thought. That icing was all over the place! :)
Saturday night, I went to Yard House for Bridgitte’s birthday. It was great! I didn’t go to Sandbar afterwards; the hike earlier drained my energy, so I was zapped. Terry and I went home and crashed. We’re cool like that.
Yesterday, Terry and I focused on getting some packing done at the house. We took all the art off the walls and staged it in the guest bedroom for moving. It looks so drab and sad in there now. Makes it feel all that much more real. Looking forward to the move – but most of all, looking forward to being extra-prepared so moving day is as simple as possible.
Thank goodness it’s a short week. Really excited to see Leah and Mark on Thursday for Thanksgiving.
Back to it. If you’re reading this: you’re awesome.
These two make everything better.
Jack!
